A Brinker's Jewelers Appraisal Begins With Honesty

Our appraisers are graduate gemologists of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). This certification means we can give you the most accurate analysis of your most precious jewelry.

OUR APPRAISAL PROCESS

Integrity Matters

We personally spend a bit of time educating our customers on what to expect from an appraisal in case something ever happens to their jewelry. We honestly and thoroughly determine the value of any item you need appraised, and share this dollar amount with you. Your jewelry appraisal will include:
  • Testing and documentation
  • Gem identification
  • Inspection and cleaning of each item
  • Grading analysis
  • A written value assessment for current retail, estate or liquidation purposes
  • A photograph of each piece for insurance
  • Two copies of your appraisal (one for you and one for your insurance)

REPUTABLE AND PRECISE

The Brinker’s Difference

Many customers are unaware that appraisal value is generally higher than the actual dollar amount received if jewelry is lost, stolen or damaged, and requires replacement by an insurance agency. As most appraisals are done for the purpose of obtaining insurance coverage in these cases, we appraise as accurately as possible so our customers aren’t paying higher insurance rates to insure their valuable jewelry. Our appraisals may also be used for:
  • Estate-tax evaluation
  • Value comparison
  • Casualty loss
  • Dissolution of marriage (divorce)
  • Collateral and barter purposes
Awareness

Most insurance companies replace items at the lowest cost possible, and not at the dollar amount the item appraises for. It is standard practice for an agency to replace your stone/item with one of their choosing. This methodology could sacrifice the quality and integrity of your stone/item.

Advice

We advise our customers to elicit their cash option during replacement claims. This approach means that you’ll speak with a professional jeweler face-to-face, and you can rest assured that the quality and integrity of your replaced stone/item will still meet both GIA and Brinker’s Jewelers standards.

Adherence

We never over-appraise our selection of jewelry. This isn’t fair to our customers, who would in turn overpay on insurance premiums to protect a piece appraised at a much higher rate than it truly costs to replace. Integrity is everything, and we will not do anything to jeopardize ours.
