Evansville, Ind., Feb. 1, 2010 — Brinker’s Jewelers is placing their faith in the Indianapolis Colts on the line — by offering full refunds if the Colts shut out the New Orleans Saints.
“We’re getting behind the Colts in a big way,” said Dean Brinker, president of Brinker’s Jewelers and Colts fan. “If the Colts shut out the Saints, then I’m offering full refunds on all jewelry purchases. If the Saints score zero, then you pay zero.”
The three-day payout, Feb. 4 through Feb. 6, could be substantial for the jeweler. A day’s receipts can be five digits. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, sales could be higher. “If I was someone who was buying jewelry for Valentine’s Day, I would come by, just for the chance it could be free,” Brinker said."
If the Colts prevail, couples getting their engagement rings from Brinker’s will have quite a Super Bowl story to share. “Not to mention quite a jump on other wedding expenses,” Brinker said.
